MEAL PLANNING MADE EASIER.

Managing blood sugars can be a challenge. There are over 40 lifestyle factors that can make them spike too high or drop too low, not to mention eating patterns (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, halal, celiac, gluten-free) and digestive issues; e.g., gastroparesis (slow motility), intestinal enteropathy (reflux, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, etc.) and/or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The foods we eat play a major role in blood sugar management. Our Registered Dietitians and Diabetes Educators are available to support you and your family in optimizing your lifestyle and making choices that will help you...

IMPROVE YOUR TIME-IN-RANGE.

Do you have questions about counting carbs, reading nutrition labels, the glycemic index, how to shop for 'T1D-friendly' foods, meal and snack ideas or tracking tools? Come and see us. Our Registered Dietitians and Diabetes Educators has a bunch of great, evidence-based information to share! Most insurance plans will cover services provided by a Registered Dietitian. Please contact us for details.

Kristen has been laser-focused on the pursuit of her dream of establishing a support centre for people challenged by Type 1 diabetes (T1D) since her daughter's diagnosis in 2013. Her personal experience as an adult with, and a parent of a child managing this chronic, complex, life threatening disease will be of great benefit and inspiration to the patients and families she will encounter in her professional career. Kristen's contributions to The Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre have helped to ensure that the needs of its patients and families are being met while incorporating ideas and expertise that support The Centre's strategic plan. Kristen has emerged as a role model and example of how to not only help yourself, but also help others. She continues to exemplify resilience, dedication and a determination to excel, pushing boundaries and thinking outside the box to accomplish goals and striving to be inclusive. She believes that working together in interdisciplinary teams, where patients have a strong voice, is far more powerful than achieving success in isolation. Kristen has vision, compassion and empathy for others and consistently demonstrates her adaptability and in-depth understanding of the needs, implications and effects of chronic disease on both physical and mental well-being. She offers a background of varied experiences to draw from.that will be of great benefit to those lives she touches.
